Boardsquares collects account details users provide or generate through the service, such as name, email address, nickname, state, phone number, notification preferences, board participation, hosted-board activity, and square claims.
Boardsquares stores board names, board codes, host settings, assignment mode, claim history, score updates, result history, activity logs, and related audit data needed to operate and support boards.
Information is used to operate accounts, manage board access, display board activity, send requested board-result notifications, support hosts, protect the service, and improve Boardsquares.
If users opt in, Boardsquares uses email addresses, phone numbers, and mobile-provider selections to send account, verification, security, access, and board-result messages. Users can change notification preferences in their profile.
Host software checkout is processed through Stripe. Boardsquares stores transaction metadata needed to activate, support, refund, or reconcile host software access, such as checkout status, provider session identifiers, receipt links, and related audit records. Boardsquares does not store full card numbers.
Boardsquares stores schedules, scores, score snapshots, and result data from sports data providers to operate board scoring and maintain an audit history.
When analytics are enabled, Boardsquares uses privacy-conscious website analytics to understand general site usage, device types, traffic sources, and feature engagement. Boardsquares redacts query strings and known sensitive route values before sending page-view data, and does not intentionally send board codes, passwords, payment details, email addresses, phone numbers, verification codes, or reset tokens to analytics.
Boardsquares shares limited information with service providers needed to operate the site, such as hosting, email delivery, carrier text-message gateways, analytics, sports data, and payment processing. Boardsquares does not sell participant personal information.
Boardsquares retains account, board, score, result, notification, billing, and audit records as needed for product operation, support, security, accounting, legal compliance, and historical board access. Some records may be kept after a board or account becomes inactive when needed for support, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal purposes.
Boardsquares uses reasonable safeguards to protect account and board data, including hashed passwords, role-based access, email verification, anti-forgery protections on sensitive actions, and limited administrative access.
